The König brand name comes literally from the Gran Zebrù (also called KönigSpitze), one of the main Italian peaks in the Ortles-Cevedale group. In fact, the fantastic view on the Königspitze went with the morning awakening of one of the three historical founders of the company during the summer holidays in the Alps. To confirm the solidity and the quality of products, the ownership decided to use a german naming that could communicate these values in a stronger way to the market.
