The König Easy-fit is the snow chain that revolutioned the way of fitting snow chains as the first snow chain mixing the benefits of intuitive fitting and automatic tensioning.
The chain comes already assembled from the factory and it requires no link-to-hook operation typical of traditional snow chains. The unique product design is largely based on the front aluminum bar which contains the automatic tensioning mechanism which gets activated by a pedal push.
The König Easy-fit SUV snow chain is a supplementary grip device certified according to Ö-Norm V5117 and EN 16662-1 thus fulfilling any Winter Equipment legal requirement.
The by-pass is a chain mesh band positioned over the tire tread allowing the communication from the outer side of the wheel to the inner side and viceversa.
Thanks to the by-pass system, the micro-cable can slide between the aluminum bar and the inner arch applying tension to the inner side of the chain when the pedal is engaged to the lower position.
1 of 7The König Wheel-Shield Level 1 offers a full alloy wheel protection from the typical scratches of unprotected snow chains. All the components which might get in touch with the rim are manufactured in or covered by anti-scratch composite material.
Additionally side hooks are covered by a specific set of nylon bumpers which detatch side elements from the rim profile.
2 of 7The main design element of the front side chain the chain is the aluminum bar which contains the tensioning system.
The tensioning device is based on an oval elastic connecting micro-cables and pedal. When the pedal gets engaged, the elastic enlongs and applies tension to the micro-cables.
As soon as the wheel moves, the micro-cable which was stuck under the wheel, gets recalled into the inner arch and the chain gets tensioned. The more the vehicle drives, the better the tensioning precision is.
3 of 7The side elastics carry an higher load compared to the ones of the Easy-fit CU-9 and they are meant to balance the external side of the chain in dynamic conditions.
4 of 7The safety device ensures the chain is not release under heavy dynamic stress such as strong accelerations and braking.
Thanks to the specific rack design the safety device adjusts the tensioning precision with superior precision.
5 of 7The release buttons are meant to release the pedal from engaged position.
They are design for improved ergonomics during the release operation.
6 of 7The pedal slides on the internal track of the aluminum bar and pulls the inner elastic device and the micro-cable.
When the pedal gets pushed the safety device gets automatically engaged.
7 of 7The cross-sections follow an asymmetrical path as the radial chain segments are in staggered positions.
1 of 2The horizonal link of the cross-sections are covered with ice-breakers following an asymmetrical path, sensibly increasing the number of touchpoints between chain and ground.
2 of 2The inner rigid arch allows the fitting of the internal part of the chain like a breeze. In fact, the memory shape steel arch included in one of the cavities, the system allows stretch under load while returning to the original shape just after.
Thanks to this mechanical property, the chain can easily be mounted on the wheel.
At the same time, the inner rigid arch allows the sliding of the micro-cable providing a complete tensioning of the inner side of the chain.
1 of 3The inner by pass connection connects the by-pass and the inner rigid arch and allows the micro-cables to pass through the inner rigid arch.
2 of 3The micro-cable is passing through the inner cavity of the rigid arch; its extremities share their paths in the by-pass connection, in the entire by-pass and ending up in the connection with the elastic device included in the front aluminum bar.
