The König XD-16 Pro is the natural extension of the König XD-16, released to cover SUVs and Pickups equipped with larger tires, in particular with 33″ and 35″ wheels.
That’s what the König XD-16 Pro is about: to offer a light and easy-to-fit snow chain with a simplified mounting procedure on those tires that before were covered exclusively with the hyper-strong, heavier and more complex Professional snow chains.
The König XD-16 Pro snow chain is a supplementary grip device certified according to Ö-Norm V5117, EN 16662-1 and Ö-Norm V5119 thus fulfilling any Winter Equipment legal requirement both for light (<3.5t) and heavy (>3.5t of GVW) vehicles.
Once the snow chain is fitted on the wheel, the manual tensioning requires the driver to stop after a few dozen meters to retension the snow chains manually. The fixation of the chain after mounting and tensioning is provided by the elastic end red hook.
1 of 5The König Wheel-Shield Level 2 offers an effective alloy wheel protection from the typical scratches of unprotected snow chains.
With the Wheel-Shield level 2 side hooks are covered by a specific set of nylon bumpers which detatch side elements from the rim profile.
2 of 5Adjusting links are connected to the front closing hook and they allow the front side of the chain to get smaller or larger to allow a more precise snow chain fit on different tire sizes, profiles and wear level.
3 of 5The micro-adjustability function on traditional fitting snow chains is represented by the König Micro-Adjust and locking devices paired together: the trigger of the locking device controls the sliding of the Micro-Adjust plastic cones and locks with approximately 8mm snaps.
The König Micro-Adjust technology provides an easy-to-handle and effective tensioning solution, 3 time more precise than the conventional tensioning chains.
4 of 5The König XD-16 Pro features a double spring system placed on the lower side chain, close to the locking device.
Such springs are meant to offer a pretensioning of the snow chain and to enlarge / reduce to lenght of the side chain allowing a perfect fit on different tire profiles and wear levels.

The König XD-16 Pro cross-sections are composed by 16mm links which are configured in shorter diamond shapes for an ideal weight and forces distribution.

The ground-up fitting system is based on the flexible cable sliding on the ground behind the wheel, allowing all the chain parts get connected without moving the vehicle.
