Common features of the König manual snow chains
Design based on the inner flexible cable
One of the main components of the König manual snow chains is the flexible cable which is designed to gain position on the inner side of the wheel, resulting not visibile when the snow chain is mounted on the wheel.
The flexible cable has the key function to allow the chain to slide on the ground, behind the tyre, during the earlier fitting operations and the connection and subsequent positioning of the inner side of the chain.
Manual tensioning
Sharing the same fitting system of the Automatic snow chains, the manual snow chains are requesting the user to stop twice to complete the tensioning of the chain. At the first stop, the user is requested to fit the chain and to apply a minimal level of tensioning which needs to be enforced at the second car stop.
Who said that stopping a vehicle twice is uncomfortable? That really depends on your habits and preferences.
What is absolutely true is that manual tensioning chains are just not more complicated to install compared the automatic snow chains, they just require a further stop. For that reason they can be considered less comfortable, but the fitting process is exactly the same.

The concept behind the Wheel-Shield originates from the very basic chain size design: while guaranteeing the compatibility with muliple tyre sizes, each König snow chain is designed to favour the positioning of the chain on the tyre with respect to the rim.
The König manual snow chains come with the Wheel-Shield Level 2: additionally to the precise sizing allowing the side chain elements to stay on the tyre sidewall, the main components which might get in touch with the rim are manufactured in or covered by anti-scratch composite material.
